Now all you have to do is Dance
A bold retelling of Aesop’s timeless fable “The cicada and the Ant” through the lens of modern societal struggles. An ancient story turned into a visceral, entertaining, thought provoking performance of sound, movement, and spoken word. Using Brechtian techniques, ancient Greek theatrical elements, duet acting, and puppetry, the performance critiques today’s grind culture and explores what happens when life becomes a cycle of burnout. What if the cicada wasn’t lazy but wise? What if the ant was another victim of hustle culture? Inspired by La Fontaine’s empathetic version of the story and the real-life cycles of periodical cicadas, this powerful piece reminds us of our lost joy, rest, and the freedom to pause.

Becoming a Tree
A project researching the association between nature and women, tree folklore, dendrology, as well as symbolism and cultural association with trees. The aim of this project is to explore the diverse ways in which trees contribute to our lives, the interconnectedness of human and nature, and the intersection of folklore, somatic practises and ecofeminism.
Supported by The Work Room, Glasgow, Citymoves, Aberdeen and Kelburn Estate via the NeverendingGlen residency.

Individuals and Intimacies
A dance and theatre performance that delves into the concept of intimacy and its multifaceted nature. The project, in collaboration with artist David West, explores various themes such as vulnerability, strength, support, and past experiences, employing verbal and physical communication as well as different sensory mediums. We present scenarios of first encounters and social situations that often lean towards comedy and awkwardness.

Holding the Forest Floor
“Holding the Forest Floor” is an outdoors, site specific and improvised movement/dance performance aiming to connect us and the audience to our senses and the natural world, through simplistic but well calculated movement. A performance that borrows characteristics of the relationships built between fungi and their environment and the tangled network of mycelium. Inspired by lychens, sporing, tree hugging, moss smelling, leaf crumbling.
